Antwerp is rich in heritage landmarks that tell the story of the city and add real value to education. The Boerentoren is one such iconic site. With the building currently undergoing a major transformation, this offers pupils a rare and time-limited chance to take a look behind the scenes.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

For this reason, the city of Antwerp and The Phoebus Foundation will be organising free site visits to the Boerentoren for secondary schools in Antwerp. The visits are combined with the exhibition Het komt allemaal goed<\/em> in the Keizerskapel.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Through this joint initiative, the city of Antwerp and The Phoebus Foundation aim to introduce pupils to one of the city\u2019s most distinctive buildings. The educational programme aligns with curriculum guidelines, and minimum learning objectives. This collaboration helps embed cultural heritage more firmly within education. Tailored teaching materials have been developed for each year group, in collaboration with teachers.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Teachers can register their class via Wat is Kunst?<\/em> (WIK), The Phoebus Foundation\u2019s educational platform for children and young people. Through www.watiskunst.be<\/a>, they can access registration for the Boerentoren site visits as well as the accompanying teaching materials, tailored to different year groups and learning objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WIK brings together educational pathways around art and heritage, supporting teachers with clear content, practical tools and ready-to-use teaching materials, both for preparation and for follow-up after the visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
