During the conservation of Jan Miel\u2019s Carnaval on a Roman Piazza<\/em>, something that had remained hidden for centuries came to light on the reverse of the canvas. The discovery takes us back to seventeenth-century Rome, where lively scenes of everyday life found their way into aristocratic collections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
