Landscapes of the Soul - The Phoebus Foundation
23/11/2025 - 08/03/2026

James Ensor – Claude Monet – Léon Spilliaert

Landscapes of the Soul invites visitors to explore the Belgian art scene at the turn of the 19th century. The exhibition presents Brussels as a thriving hub of the avant-garde, where artists such as Léon Spilliaert, Théo Van Rysselberghe, George Minne and James Ensor exchanged ideas with their French contemporaries and shaped their own visions of Impressionism, Symbolism and Fauvism.

Twenty-eight works from the collection of The Phoebus Foundation are shown alongside twenty-seven paintings by French masters from the Collection Rau for UNICEF. Together, they trace a shared artistic pursuit of the human soul in all its mystery, tension and light.
