The Woman Question - The Phoebus Foundation
21/11/2025 - 03/05/2026

The Woman Question offers a fresh perspective on the position of women in art history. Across eight thematic chapters, a visual narrative unfolds that highlights the vitality and versatility of women in art over the past five centuries.

The exhibition presents an impressive panorama of the gradual yet unstoppable artistic emancipation of women, featuring works ranging from the Renaissance, Barque and 19th-century paintings to contemporary creations. Among the highlights are a self-portrait of Angelika Kauffmann and Female Artist at Work in the First Academy of Women in Belgium, both from the collection of The Phoebus Foundation.
